crystal pieces: human beings
Who are we, in the end? People – like ancient riddles and creatures in constant change. Guided by three performers crystal pieces: human beings examines humanity, consciousness and togetherness. Performance creates unprecedented circumstances between the audience members and the performers by moving energy, people, sound and sensations in space. Performance is opening peoples senses up to sounds, movement, shapes and shades of dusk.
Observations of closeness and touch become a part of the performance equal to visual, auditory and kinesthetic perception. crystal pieces: human beings is made for museum and gallery spaces and it has also been performed at stage and night club like settings.
After the previous collaborations choreographer Mikko Hyvönen reunites with Dance Company Off/Balance from Jyväskylä, which is the biggest dance company in Central Finland, founded in 2010 by two dancers and childhood friends Terhi Kuokkanen and Elina Häyrynen. ‘The motion and the presence of the dancers feels like prickling on the skin; there is a desire to touch and follow them with more than the gaze. The boundaries between the performers and the audience crumble away.’ – Keskisuomalainen
