Movement and meditation in connection with the elements of nature
The aim of the course is to find calmness, strength, clarity and joy of movement in our body and mind. Together we will explore what kind of movement and strength we can find in ourselves through dance and meditation exercises inspired by the nature around and within us. The course is open to all who are interested, no previous experience of dance or meditation is necessary.
The elements and images we use as inspiration for the meditations and dance exercises are from the nature around us and from within our bodies. In meditation, we use imagery and breath to take the mind and body in a particular direction and allow time to deepen into it. Dance exercises continue from this starting point, allowing the images and elements to lead to freer movement and exploring this area through mindfulness, breath, movement and dance. During the lessons, we will discuss experiences and ideas from meditation and dance exercises.
Teacher
Mikko Hyvönen, dancer and choreographer, is a graduate of P.A.R.T.S. dance academy in Brussels in 2010 and has since worked as a performer and choreographer in diverse projects and workshops internationally.
