Bio:
Aura (1997. Porto) is a transdisciplinary artist interested in issues of identity and sustainability and co-founder of Asterisco, a space for artists belonging to social minorities.
Her work has been presented internationally in Portugal, Poland, France, Italy, Sweden, United Kingdom, namely "Trans*Performativity" (2023-2025, fAUNA | Teatro da Didascália, A Gráfica - Centro de Criação Artística, Teatro Municipal do Porto x Instável - Centro Coreográfico, Temps d'Images x mono), "A Transformação do Mundo" (2022-2023, Galerias Municipais de Lisboa, Mala Voadora) and "7 ≈ 8" (2021-2023, Bienal de Arte Contemporânea da Maia, The Place, Migration Matters Festival, Stockholm Fringe Festival, Quinzena de Dança de Almada, Mala Voadora, Centre for Live Art Yorkshire, Rua das Gaivotas 6, Nottingham Contemporary).
She has an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths, University of London. She has a degree in Fine and Intermediate Arts from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. She attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk on Erasmus.
She has collaborated with SillySeason, Carlota Lagido, Raimund Hoghe, Alessandro Bosetti and Aki Nagasaka. She has participated in various workshops and programs with more than 30 international creators, including Ron Athey, nora chipaumire, Marta Ziólek, Mårten Spångberg, Adriano Wilfert Jensen.
She has received support and awards from Porto City Council, Setúbal City Council, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the GDA Foundation, the Youth Foundation, ESAP, DGES and Santander Universidades.
